DO-160, 1000 Watt, Aviation Grade, Power Supply

This product was designed for a Boeing sub-contractor looking for an open frame, 1000 watt, DO-160 compliant power supply to be mounted inside their chassis. The supply needed to comply with the input power and harmonics requirements under Section 16 of DO-160 operating from a 115Vac, 3-phase, 400Hz power source with the addition of several other sections applicable to DO-160 power supply qualification test criteria.

This design incorporates 3 high efficiency, ac to dc, power factor corrected, rectifier modules for the Isolated Front End (IFE) which also provided the single output 28 volt. This IFE platform integrates the EMI filtering and a connection for an optional external capacitor bank to increase hold-up time.

This DO160 power supply provides a baseplate for conduction cooling and operates from -40°C to +85° baseplate temperature without derating. It is easily customizable to provide various output voltages and optional controls/signals. This platform can be placed into a chassis with I/O connectors of your choice providing a complete, turnkey power supply product.
