About our Aerospace Power Supplies

We have developed an aerospace power supply series for military airborne applications that utilize a three phase, 400 Hz, 115vac input power source. We designated this power supply platform:  MGPSXXXX-3P. This design employs high efficiency, power factor corrected modules to provide the isolated front end for this series. The IFE incorporates an EMI filtering section designed to meet MIL-STD-461. Also incorporated into the front end is transient and surge protection designed to meet MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-1275. The back end utilizes high efficiency, dc to dc converters to provide the regulated DC output(s). This design allows us to easily change outputs to meet differing applications, essentially, a tailor made power supply for the OEM without the expensive NRE charges.

Another important design criteria for our “aerospace-grade” power supply series is to meet MIL-STD-810, shock and vibration standards as applicable to power supplies. Typically, these are designed to meet Shock: Method 516.6, Procedure I, 20g peak, 11mS terminal peak, saw-tooth shock pulse and Vibration (Random): Method 514.5, Procedure I, Category 4 – General minimum integrity. In addition, these semi-sealed chassis are designed to prevent ingress from humidity and salt fog with outdoor environmental conditions.

The MGPS Aerospace power supply series is a conduction cooled through the baseplate and can reliable operate at full rated power with a baseplate temperature from -40°C to +85°C. The baseplate is also used to mount the power supply. The standard input/output connectors for this series is the D-Sub type, it can be fitted with optional D38999 mil-circular connectors. As with all of our series, this can be customized to meet a variety of applications because we can modify output voltages, connector types, power ranges, and mechanical packaging to tailor to your specific requirements.
