2400 Watt Custom AC to DC Power Supply for Navy Shipboard Application

This customer is working on the next generation surveillance system for the US Navy. The application called for a dual output, 2400 watt, ac to dc watt power that would meet MIL-STDs 461, 810 & 1399.

 This customer’s application required the custom military power supply to be a self-contained, standalone. Since this is a Navy military program, this custom military power supply would need to be designed to meet related MIL-SPECs and MIL-STDs. Their basic power needs: 2400 watts, single output, 48Vdc which is not unusual or difficult from a design standpoint. The design objective was to design the 2400W to operate in a high-temp environment using conduction cooling.

 This power supply also had some specialized I2C communications integrated into the design requested by the customer.
