1000 Watt External Power Supply Overview
Application: Self-contained power supply for Industrial computer systems
Project Abstract: This customer requested a power supply designed to operate outside of the enclosure containing electronics and computer boards. They wanted a minimum of 1000 watts at 48Vdc and it had to be a stand-alone unit with I/O connectors allowing standard AC line cords and pluggable output cable assemblies.
This customer’s application also required that the supply meet EMC immunity requirements for Railway, Maritime and Medical usage. Additionally, it needed to meet shock and vibration under MIL-STD-810G and IEC 60068-2-27. This unit would need to be self-cooled and would have safety agency certifications applicable to their markets.
